Alburquerque is a 5th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 9,644 people. Alburquerque is twelve (12) kilometers from the City of Tagbilaran. The coastal town’s short name is “Albur”. Originally a part of Baclayon, this municipality was once called Segunto. When Segunto became a municipality, its name was changed to Alburquerque after an ancient town in Mexico.
